If you have created your ad's assets in Flash, and you would like to work with Sizmek, you can easily transform your ad and make it Sizmek friendly. After you have your assets, all you have to do is create an ad using Ad Builder for Flash, select your FLAs for the creative assets (banner, panel, etc.) and then make small amendments to your ad's settings to make your ad Sizmek friendly.

Procedure
  1. Make sure you are working with the latest version of the Ad Builder for Flash.
  1. Open your Flash program (CS4, CS5, CS5.5, or CC).
  2. From the Ad Builder for Flashpanel, select New and from the drop-down list, select the ad format you require (i.e., Polite Banner).
  3. Define the general details of your ad (name, ActionScript version, etc.).
  4. To select your assets, use the Existing FLA option.
  5. Follow the guidelines below to make sure your ad is Sizmek friendly:
  • Make sure the first frame contains empty keyframes and only includes Sizmek's code as follows:

    screen_MM_code

    See the code samples below to see how to implement Sizmek code in AS2, AS3 and for Standard Banners:
    All ad formats except for Standard Banner:
    Note: Adding the EBBase.Init adds extra weight to your ad. It adds 3.47 KB for AS2 and 5.90 KB for AS3.

  • ActionScript 2.0:

EBBase.Init();

  • ActionScript 3.0:

EBBase.Init(this);

  • For Standard Banners only:
    Note: Adding the EB.Std adds extra weight to your ad. It adds 0.619 KB for AS2 and 1.06 KB for AS3.
  • ActionScript 2.0:

EBStd.Init();

  • ActionScript 3.0:

EBStd.Init(this);

  1. To add a clickthrough URL use EBStd.Clickthrough() instead of getURL as follows:

    screen_clickthrough_code_new

  2. If you have more than one clickthrough, call the Clickthrough() with custom interaction parameters, as follows:

    screen_clickthrough with CI

  3. If you have video in your ad, DO NOT embed your video. It should be uploaded as an additional asset. For more information about uploading additional assets, see Adding Additional Assets.
  4. To track the video metrics and control the video player, use Sizmek's video loader component. For more information, see Sizmek Video Components.
  5. Define your custom interactions, For example, to track user actions, implement the EB.UserActionCounter. For more information about custom interactions, see Adding Custom Interactions.
  6. Add a default image to your ad. This is the image that is shown to users who do not support full rich media ads. For more information, see Adding a Default Image.
  7. Once you have finished customizing your ad, click Preview. For more information, see Previewing your Ad.
  8. Click Upload. For more information, see Uploading your Ad.
    To bundle the ad’s files and upload to the Sizmek platform, select Ad > Bundle Ad for Upload. For more information, see Bundling your Ad for Upload.
