You are not limited to use the Sizmek Workshop in order to create Standard Banners. If you want to use Flash, then add the following code below to your code:

Note: This will not track in the Interactions Monitor, but you can verify that the URL is being pulled in properly by adjusting it in the platform. For more information, see Defining Interaction and Ad URLs.

For AS2 Standard Banners:

//Add this method to the mouse event on your clickthrough button or function (Frame 2 or later):

on(release){

getURL(_level0.clickTag, “_blank”);

//the actual URL is defined later in the ad settings

}

For AS3 Standard Banners:

//Add this method as the callback function to your MouseEvent.CLICK event added to a MovieClip or Button (Frame 2 or later):

function callClick(...e) {
if (ExternalInterface.available) {
ExternalInterface.call( "function() { window.open( '" + root.loaderInfo.parameters.clickTag + "' ) }" );
} else {
navigateToURL(new URLRequest(root.loaderInfo.parameters.clickTag),"_blank");
}
//the actual URL is defined later in the ad settings
}

Best Practices

  • Recommended max frame rate 24 fps (for North American publisher specs)
  • Recommended max default animation 15 seconds (best practice North American publisher spec)
  • Recommended to cover the entire creative with a clickthrough button.
  • Standard Banners can only have one clickthrough defined in the platform, pulled using the above code.
