To begin working with Ad Builder for Flash, please follow these steps for downloading and installing the Flash extension file MXP for CS versions, or ZXP for Creative Cloud versions).
MXP is the acronym for Multimedia Extension Package. The MXP is a compressed installation file containing the extension(s) to be downloaded and installed by the Adobe Extension Manager. The MXP includes all the files that are needed to work with the Workshop.
Note: Updates are made often, so always make sure you are using the most updated version of the MXP. For more information, see Checking for Updates.
Installation Requirements
The installation process is similar for the different Flash versions; however make sure you open the correct Extension Manager. For example, if you are using Flash CS6, make sure you open the Extension Manager CS6.
If you have multiple versions of Adobe on your computer, make sure you install the MXP/ZXP in the correct Adobe suite using the Extension Manager.
Installing Ad Builder for Flash (MXP) for Flash CS Versions
Prerequisite
If this is the first time you are installing the Ad Builder for Flash, you must first remove the Eyeblaster extension before installing Ad Builder for Flash. If you remove the Eyeblaster extension after installing the Ad Builder for Flash extension, this can cause problems later on. Expand the process below for more information.
Remove the Eyeblaster Extension
Open up the Extension Manager.
Next to the Eyeblaster extension, click Remove as follows:
A prompt message displays asking you if are sure you want to remove the extension, click Yes.
The extension is removed. You can now install the Sizmek Workshop extension.
Procedure
Install the Adobe Flash Extension Manager. This is required before you can install Flash Extensions onto your Flash authoring software.
In the Sizmekplatform > Sizmek Creative section, download the latest Sizmek Workshop for Flash (Ad Builder for Flash) version.
Save the zip file to your local hard drive and extract all contents.
Open the Flash program you are working with, for example Adobe CS5.5.
Go to Help > Manage Extensions as follows:
Close Flash but keep the Adobe Extension Manager opened.
To install Ad Builder for Flash on Flash CS:
Install the Adobe Flash Extension Manager. This is required before you can install Flash Extensions onto your Flash authoring software.
In the Sizmek platform > Sizmek Creative section, download the latest Sizmek MXP Workshop for Flash (Ad Builder for Flash) version.
Save the zip file to your local hard drive and extract all contents.
Open the Flash program you are working with, for example Adobe CS5.5.
Go to Help > Manage Extensions as follows:
Close Flash but keep the Adobe Extension Manager opened.
If you are working with a non-English operating system in MAC, see the process below.
Working with a non-English operating system in MAC
Go to the folder where all the Flash files are located, for example, if you are using CS3 go to: Users/username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Flash CS3.
Rename the newly created EN folder with the name of the one of your local country, for example: FR. But don’t forget to rename the original folder with _bkp in case you may want to deactivate the Workshop afterwards.
Note: If you already have a previous version of the MXP installed on your computer, select the checkbox of the previous version then click Remove.
Click Install to install the new extension.
Select the Sizmek Workshop.mxp file and click Open.
Click Accept.
If you have an older version of the Ad Builder for Flash installed, click Yes to replace the version.
Make sure the Enabled checkbox is selected, otherwise your component will not be recognized by Flash.
Close the Adobe Extension Manager.
If you are using a MAC machine and are upgrading from a different version of Flash, for example from Flash CS4 to Flash CS6,see below.
MAC Flash CS6 Upgrade
If you are using MAC and are upgrading Flash versions, for example from Flash CS4 to Flash CS6, and are encountering issues try the following solution:
From the Flash main menu, go to Edit > Preferences > ActionScript:
In the Language area, click ActionScript 3.0 Settings:
In the Source path click + then enter the following:
$(LocalData)/Classes/Eyeblaster ActionScript 3.0
$(AppConfig)/ActionScript 3.0/Classes

Note:The ZXP cannot be installed on Flash versions CS 6 or below.
FAQs when Installing ZXP
Please read our FAQs for working with the ZXP, especially if you are working in the ZXP with ads created in the MXP, or with AS2.
Opening Eyeblaster Ads (created in the Eyeblaster Workshop) in the ZXP
You cannot open an ad created with AS2, however, you can open the ad using the MXP Workshop for Flash CS versions.
For ads created with AS3, you can open them in the ZXP.
Opening Sizmek Ads (created in the MXP Workshop) in the ZXP
When opening ads in the ZXP that were created in MXP versions of the Workshop, you must make the following changes to your ad:
1. Publish Settings
In the Publish Settings (File > Publish Settings), make sure the Target is set to Flash Payer 10.3 or higher.
2. Components
For the following components, you must first remove the component from the library, and then add the component once again:
VideoScreen
VideoScreenPlayer
Single Expandable
Note: You cannot replace the component. You must first remove it from the library, and then drag it back to the stage.
The Eyeblaster VideoLoader component cannot be used. You must remove it, and replace it with the VideoScreen component instead.
The Eyeblaster VideoPlayback component cannot be used. You must remove it, and replace it with the VideoScreenPlayer component instead.

Q. What are the minimum Flash player requirements for ads created in the ZXP?
A. For ads created with Flash CC, the Flash player version should be 10.3 or higher. For earlier versions, the default image will be displayed.
Q. In the ZXP, can I open a bundle created in CS6 or lower?
A. Yes, however, you must remove the following components from the library, and then drag them back again to the stage: VideoScreen, VideoScreenPlayer, and Single Expandable. VideoLoader should be removed, and VideoScreen added in its place.
Q. Can I open the ad in Flash CC while still open in a previous version of Flash, for example CS6 or lower?
A. No. You must first close the ad in the previous version of Flash, and then open it in Flash CC.
Q. Where is the Component Inspector panel?
A. The Component Inspector in Flash CC can now be found in the Properties pane.
Q. Do I need to continuously update my version of Flash CC?
A. Adobe is expected to release frequent service packs for Flash Pro CC. It is therefore recommended in case of technical issues, to make sure you always have the latest version installed on your computer. For more known issues regarding Flash CC, please visit the Adobe site.
To install the Ad Builder for Flash on Flash CC:
Before installing the ZXP, you must have Extension Manager CC installed on your computer. Note: Do not install an MXP version of the Workshop in the Extension Manager CC. Install only a ZXP version. To install: Go to http://www.adobe.com, and sign into Creative Cloud with your Adobe credentials. Download Extension Manager CC from the list of products. Or - Open Adobe Creative Cloud if you have it installed on your computer, and select Extension Manager CC from the Apps page.
Extract / open the installation file, and follow the installation procedure in the Extension Manager. Or Open the Extension Manager CC, and click Install. Locate and select the extracted ZXP file, and follow the installation procedure in the Extension Manager.
During the installation process, you may encounter the following warning message: Click Install and the Don't show this dialog again option. To avoid receiving this error in the future, do the following: In the Extension Manager CC, go to Tools > Preferences, and clear the Show warning when installing unsigned ZXP extensions checkbox.
