You can preview your ad when you want to see how your ad will look on the advertiser's site. You can manage your interactions using the Interactions Monitor, position the ad parts, share a preview of your ad, and more.

The Preview Ad option allows you to preview your ad on a selected browser. All browsers that have been installed on your computer and are supported by Sizmek will be available for selection.

The following browsers are supported by Sizmek:



Internet Explorer








The first time you preview an ad using the Ad Builder for Flash as your default browser is selected. If you select another browser, e.g., Chrome, then the next time you preview, that browser will be selected by default.

Before you Begin!

  • Currently it is advised not to use Chrome to preview your ad due to some limitations. You should select Internet Explorer (on PC) or FireFox (on MAC) instead.
  • There are two places that you can preview your ad, either from the Ad menu, or from the Ad Builder for Flash panel. The following process describes how to preview from the Ad Builder for Flash panel.

To preview your ad:

  1. From the Ad Builder for Flash panel, click Preview.
  2. From the list of browsers, select the browser you want to use to preview your ad.
    All browsers that are installed on your computer appear in the list.
  3. To see how your ad will look on the advertiser's page, in the Background URL, enter the  advertiser's website then click Go.
  4. Click Save Preview when you are done previewing your ad.

You can share a preview of your ad, when you want to send your preview to others for viewing purposes. For example, if you want your boss to see your ad before uploading it to the Sizmek platform, you can send a link with a share preview.

You do not need a Sizmek login to view a Shared Preview.

To share a preview of your ad:

  1. From the Ad Builder for Flash panel, click Preview.
  2. From the bottom of the screen, click Share Preview.
    The Share Preview window appears containing a link to the ad’s preview.


  1. If you have already shared a preview of this ad, a new link is created which overrides the     previous link.
  2. Click Copy to Clipboard.
  3. Create an email for the person you want to send the preview to.
  4. Paste the link in the body of the email.
  5. Send the email.
  6. Click Close.


Due to different browsers and regulations, you may encounter some issues when previewing your ad.

The following are some knowns issues and limitations:

  • Currently the Sizmek preview does not support Chrome with MAC OS 10.5.
  • If you are using FireFox and/or Safari the preview will NOT work. There are two ways to fix this issue:

Add the Sizmek log file to your trusted locations

  1. For the Ad.
  2. While previewing your ad, right click and select Global Settings:


  1. In the Flash Player Settings Manager dialog, select the Advanced tab:


  1. Scroll down and click Trusted Location Settings


  1. In the Trusted Location Settings dialog, click Add:


  1. In the Add Site dialog, click Add Folder:


  1. Search for the Sizmek file. All Sizmek files are located in the configuration folder. This folder varies on each computer, but is usually found in the following location: (see the folder according to your operating system)
  • Win7, CS5.5: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Flash CS5.5\en_US\Configuration\MediaMind
  • Win7: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\<Flash version>\<language>\Configuration\MediaMind
  • Win XP and Vista: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\<Flash version>\<language>\Configuration\MediaMind
  • Mac: Macintosh HD/Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/<Flash version>/<language>/Configuration/MediaMind
  1. When you are done adding the site, click Confirm:



Update your Global Security Settings

  1. With FireFox open, right-click your ad and select About Adobe Flash Player:


  1. On the right hand side of the page, under Support click Settings Manager:


  1. Select Global Security Settings Panel:


  1. Make sure the Always Allow radio button is selected as follows:


  1. From the Edit Locations drop-down list, select Add Location:


  1. Click Browse for Folder:


  1. Browse to the…\Configuration\MediaMind folder, select the JS folder and then click OK:


The file is added to your Trusted Locations:


You can now close FireFox and return to the local preview.

If you are still encountering issues, please contact

  1. If you are previewing using Chrome, you must first close all open browsers and then preview your ad. This is due to Chrome security restrictions.
  2. If you are using Internet Explorer as your web browser, you need to configure your browser to allow active content to run locally. This will remove the warning message each time you try to preview your ad locally.
  3. If you are using Mac OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) and you are encountering preview issues, make sure the Share Windows application with Mac checkbox is not selected:

    screen_shared apps

    If you turn this setting on, the preview and/or upload option will not work.
