Edit the Polite Banner Ad's Settings in Ad Builder for Flash
You can edit your ad when you want to change the ad's general settings, clickthrough URL, and more.
To edit the Polite Banner settings:
1. Open your ad.
2. Go to Settings > Ad Setup.
1. Expand the Ad section.
2. In the Name field, enter the ad’s name.
Note: The name must be unique.
3. Verify that the Format is the format you selected when creating your ad.
4. Verify that the AS Version is the ActionScript version you selected when creating your ad.
5. In the Default Image field, click Browse and select the location of the default image.
6. To preview the default image, click .
Note: You cannot upload your ad without a default image.
7. Click Save to save the settings.
Defining clickthrough URL and settings
This process describes how to define the clickthrough URL of your ad. The clickthrough URL is the main clickthrough that is defined in your ad; otherwise known as eb.clickthrough. For more information, see Clickthrough Std AS2 or Clickthrough Std AS3.
If you require other clickthroughs, you can define them using the clickthrough custom interaction instead. For more information, see Adding Custom Interactions.
- Expand the Clickthrough URL Settings section.
- In the Clickthrough URL field, enter the address of the website the user will be directed to after clicking on the ad.
- Click Test URL, to make sure the URL is live.
- From the Jump Target drop-down list select how and where you want the clickthrough site to open. The possible options are:
- New Window: Select if you want the window to open in a new browser window.
- Current Frame: Select if you want the window to open in the current frame.
- Top: Select if you want the window to open at the top of the page.
- If you selected New Window:
- Set the position for the new window's upper left corner along the X and Y axis.
- Set the width and height for the new window in the W and H fields.
- If required, select the Show Address Bar checkbox.
- If required, select the Show Menu Bar checkbox.
- In the Ad Setup tab, open the Banner section.
- To change the banner asset, in the File Name field, click
to browse and search for the banner asset.
If you are creating an Expandable Banner ad the following fields are enabled:
- In the Upon Show area, select the Do not open any panel option if you do not want the panel to open when the ad appears.
Or
Select the Expand Default Panel option if you want the default panel to automatically open when the ad appears.
- Select the Show single panel at a time checkbox if you have multiple panels and you want only one panel to appear at a time. Once a panel is opened, other panels are closed.
- Click Save to save the settings.
- In the Ad Setup tab, expand the Banner section.
- To change the banner asset, in the File Name field, click
to browse and search for the banner asset.
- Click Save to save the settings.
This process describes how to create an additional asset and how to edit existing assets. An additional asset is anything that is not your banner or panel. Additional assets can be images, videos, etc.
- Expand the Additional Assets section.
- To add an additional asset:
- Click Add Asset.
- Select New, if you are creating a new asset (not based on an existing one), then enter the file name of the asset and enter its width and height.
Or
Select Existing FLA, then click Browse to select the additional asset.
- In the Asset ID field, enter the ID of the asset. The ID must correspond to the ebMovie number that is set in the Sizmek video component. For example, asset =2 is ebMovie2.
Click Add.
- To edit an additional asset:
- Select the row of the additional asset.
- In the Asset ID column you can change the number. The ID must correspond to the ebMovie number that is set in the Sizmek video component. For example, asset =2 is ebMovie2.
- To change the file, in the File Name column click
, then select the asset you require.
- To delete an asset, select the asset then click Delete.
- Click Save.
3. When you are done editing your ad click Save.

Edit the In-Stream Video Ads
You need special permissions to create In-Stream ads in the Ad Builder for Flash. For more information, contact your Client Services Manager.
You can edit your ad when you want to change the ad's general settings, clickthrough URL, and more.
Note: You need to enable In-Stream in order to modify In-Stream formats.
To edit the In-Stream Video ad's settings:
- Open your ad.
- Go to Settings> Ad Setup.
- To change the name of the ad, enter a new name.
- Expand the Clickthrough URL section.
- In the Clickthrough URL field, enter the URL of the website you want the user to clickthrough to when clicking on the ad.
Note: This clickthrough is for all the ad's elements.
- Expand the Linear Element section.
- To change the FLA, in the File Name field, click Browse and search for another file.
- Duration: Enter the duration of the ad, to ensure the preview plays the full ad.
- Select the Allow Scaling Relative to the Video Player checkbox, if you want the element to be scaled, when the player changes its size. For example, if the player opens in full screen mode the asset will be scaled. If the player opens in default mode, the asset will appear in its original size.
- Select the Maintain Aspect Ratio checkbox, if you want to maintain the asset's ratio when scaling to the video player.
This option is only available if you selected the previous checkbox.
- In the Clickthrough URL field, enter the URL of the website you want the user to clickthrough to, when they click on the linear element.
Note: If you need the same clickthrough URL for all of your elements, then you can define it at the ad level and not at the element level. If you need a separate URL per element, then you can define it here.
- Click Test URL to make sure this URL is live.
Defining the non-linear element
- Expand the Non-Linear Element section.
- To change the FLA, in the File Name field, click Browse and search for another file.
- In the Expand Width and Expand Height fields, define the expansion of the non-linear element when the ad is in its expanded state.
- Select the Allow Scaling Relative to the Video Player checkbox, if you want the element to be scaled, when the player changes its size. For example, if the player opens in full screen mode the asset will be scaled. If the player opens in default mode, the asset will appear in its original size.
- Select the Maintain Aspect Ratio checkbox, if you want to maintain the asset's ratio when scaling to the video player.
This option is only available if you selected the previous checkbox.
- In the Clickthrough URL field, enter the URL of the website you want the user to clickthrough to, when they click on the non-linear element.

- Expand the Companion Element section.
- To change the FLA, in the File Name field, click Browse and search for another file.
- In the Expand Width and Expand Height fields, define the expansion of the companion element when the ad is in its expanded state.

- In the Clickthrough URL field, enter the URL of the website you want the user to clickthrough to, when they click on the companion element.
Note: If you need the same clickthrough URL for all of your elements, then you can define it at the ad level and not at the element level. If you need a separate URL per element, then you can define it here.
- Click Test URL to make sure this URL is live.

If you have a panel already defined, edit the panel's settings as follows:
- Select the Default Panel checkbox,, if you want this panel to be the default panel.
- If you want to change the panel asset, in the File Name column, browse to the panel asset.
- Select the Auto expand on mouse over checkbox, to expand the panel when the user rolls over with their mouse.
- Select the Panel Pushes checkbox, if you want the panel to push the content on the page downwards.
- In the Auto retract when section, select one of the following options:
- Mouse is off the ad: To retract the panel when the mouse is off the ad.
- Mouse is off the panel: To retract the panel when the mouse is off the panel.
- Never: To always leave the panel expanded.
- Select the Transparent checkbox, to make the panel background transparent.
- To add another panel, click Add Panel. For more information, see Adding a Panel.
- Click Ad Positioning to position the panel. For more information, see Positioning the Ad Elements.
- Click Save to save the settings.

- Make sure Sizmek Workshop is closed. (Flash can remain open).
- Open the Workshop folder on your computer: (see the path according to the computer you are using)

- Within this folder, locate the file LocalConfiguration.xml and open it using a text editor such as Notepad (PC).
- Replace false with true (change false to true).
- Save and close the LocalConfiguration.xml file.
- Open the Sizmek Workshop.
The In-Stream ad format should now be available within templates and when creating the ad from scratch.
To edit the In-Stream Video- Interactive ad's settings:
- Open your ad.
- Go to Settings> Ad Setup.
- To change the name of the ad, enter a new name.

- If the component was added dynamically, define the Advanced Size and Positioning settings as follows:
- Select the Advanced Size and Positioning checkbox, to manually define the component's position in the ad and the component's collapsed size.
- In the Component Position in Ad File field, enter the position of the component in the ad.
- In the Component Collapsed Size (Banner Size) field, enter the width and height of the component when in collapsed state.
Note: To make sure that the component is placed above the placement in its collapsed state, the position will be automatically shifted if necessary.
- Click Save.
This process describes how to create an additional asset and how to edit existing assets. An additional asset is anything that is not your banner or panel. Additional assets can be images, videos, etc.
- Expand the Additional Assets section.
- To add an additional asset:
- Click Add Asset.
- Select New, if you are creating a new asset (not based on an existing one), then enter the file name of the asset and enter its width and height.
Or
Select Existing FLA, then click Browse to select the additional asset.
- In the Asset ID field, enter the ID of the asset. The ID must correspond to the ebMovie number that is set in the Sizmek video component. For example, asset =2 is ebMovie2.
Click Add.
- To edit an additional asset:
- Select the row of the additional asset.
- In the Asset ID column you can change the number. The ID must correspond to the ebMovie number that is set in the Sizmek video component. For example, asset =2 is ebMovie2.
- To change the file, in the File Name column click
, then select the asset you require.
- To delete an asset, select the asset then click Delete.
- Click Save.
- When you are done editing your ad click Save.

Defining clickthrough URL and settings
This process describes how to define the clickthrough URL of your ad. The clickthrough URL is the main clickthrough that is defined in your ad; otherwise known as eb.clickthrough. For more information, see Clickthrough Std AS2 or Clickthrough Std AS3.
If you require other clickthroughs, you can define them using the clickthrough custom interaction instead. For more information, see Adding Custom Interactions.
- Expand the Clickthrough URL Settings section.
- In the Clickthrough URL field, enter the address of the website the user will be directed to after clicking on the ad.
- Click Test URL, to make sure the URL is live.
- From the Jump Target drop-down list select how and where you want the clickthrough site to open. The possible options are:
- New Window: Select if you want the window to open in a new browser window.
- Current Frame: Select if you want the window to open in the current frame.
- Top: Select if you want the window to open at the top of the page.
- If you selected New Window:
- Set the position for the new window's upper left corner along the X and Y axis.
- Set the width and height for the new window in the W and H fields.
- If required, select the Show Address Bar checkbox.
- If required, select the Show Menu Bar checkbox.
This process describes how to define the intro settings. The intro element is used in Floating Ad with Reminder ads. The Floating Ad, called the intro, plays within a limited area in a transparent layer over a Web page.
- In the Ad Setup tab, expand the Intro section.
- To change the intro asset, in the File Name field, click Browse and search for the intro asset.
- If the intro asset needs to be adjusted due to the size of the asset or browser, from the Resize Settings drop-down list, select how you want to resize the asset:
- Keep Original Size - Do not resize the intro element.
- Resize according to asset - Resize the element according to the size of the asset.
- Enter the percentage by which you are resizing the element.
- Resize according to browser - Resize the element according to the size of the browser.
- Enter the percentage by which you are resizing the element.
- Select the Auto Limit Vertical Size checkbox to automatically limit the browser's vertical size.
- In the Display Period area select Unlimited, to display the floating element for as long as the page appears

Enter the number of seconds you want the floating element to appear.
- Click Ad Positioning to position the intro. For more information, see Positioning the Ad Elements.
- Click Save to save the settings.
This process describes how to define the reminder settings for a Floating Ad with Reminder. After the intro plays, the second Flash movie can play, called a reminder.
- In the Ad Setup tab, expand the Reminder section.
- To change the reminder asset, in the File Name field, click Browse and search for the reminder asset.
- If the reminder asset needs to be adjusted due to the size of the asset or browser, from the Resize Settings drop-down list select how you want to resize the asset:
- Keep Original Size - Do not resize the reminder element.

- Select the Reminder Always Appears when Intro Closes checkbox, if you want the floating reminder to immediately and automatically appear when the intro closes.
- Click Ad Positioning to position the ad parts using a drag and drop method.
- If you selected Banner enter the following details:
- In the Swap Settings area, select the banner's position type:
Note: These settings are used when an ad is running on a specific page and you want to swap the element that is on the publisher's page with your reminder. Sizmek's script searches for this element and makes the appropriate swap.
- IFRAME swap - If you want to display the banner in an Iframe.
- Banner swap - If you want to display the reminder in a banner.
- If you selected Banner, in the Banner Name to Swap field, enter the name of the element (the file name of the image, SWF, etc.) that the reminder will swap with.
- In the Alternate Banner Name to Swap field, enter the alternate banner name that the reminder will swap with.
- Click Ad Positioning to position the reminder. For more information, see Positioning the Ad Elements.
- Click Save to save the settings.
