Summary

The Smart Versioning Workshop flag for text boxes used to just warn the user that the lenght of their text field was longer than the designer had intended when someone was editing the ad online. This would serve as a warning that you have added more text than intended, but it never prevented you from running with extra characters if you wanted to.

In Mass Versioning however it makes the version Incompatible preventing it from running even if they just have 1 extra character. This should not be the case

Environment

  • MDX 2.0

Required information

  • Ad ID

Solution

  • Copied the ad and imported the excel sheet with more than 67 characters on the “Message (Text)” text field and I was able to reproduce the issue here on our end.
  • According to Tier 3, “The incompatible status is exactly the same as the warning in the smart planing, it doesn’t mean that the version will not serve, it’s only for notify that this version is incompatible (in this example – exceed the characters limitation defined), this behavior is by design, and again it is exactly like a warning, this version will be served in this case (it won’t served if the status of the version will be “Disabled”).”
