The Weather data point is available pre-bid for customers of Peer39 who can target weather categories just like any other category on their DSP. The only difference is that rather than page-based (like contextual categories), weather categories are based on geo-level data that Sizmek matches with the IP address of the bid request (the page requesting that someone buy the ad space).
Peer39 has partnered with a leading weather data provider to help our buyers filter every bid request by the weather conditions being experienced by that user.
- Conditions and Alerts: From Humid to Icy, Dust Storm to Heavy Fog, advertisers can use these shortcuts to determine which users to target and which message to display.
- Temperatures and “Feels Like”: With nine temperature ranges in both Fahrenheit and Celsius, as well as “Feels Like” categories, buyers can choose the ideal range for maximizing user engagement and conversions.
- Flu Activity: When people do not feel well, they take more medicine, stay at home, and buy more comfort food. Brands have the option of targeting people in high flu activity areas with appropriate offers.
Regardless of the vertical, weather affects the ad viewer’s immediate and short-term plans such as travel, entertainment, food and beverage habits, and retail activities.
Weather targeting parameters can be overlaid with every other Peer39 category, including mobile apps, to find the ideal environment to serve your ads.
