What is Prisma?

Prisma is a workflow management platform used for managing paid media workflow including, planning, buying, billing, and paying of media invoices.

Prisma uses the Sizmek Advertising Suite API to:

  • Create and update campaigns and placements in Sizmek.
  • View Sizmek campaign and placement delivery reporting and data within Prisma.

What is Required to Integrate with Prisma?

  • A Sizmek account that is fully migrated to Sizmek Advertising Suite.
  • Your Sizmek Advertising Suite login credentials.

Note: Use your Sizmek Advertising Suite login in Prisma. A Sizmek API user or application key is not required.

Integration - Task Ownership

Campaign and Placement Setup

The campaign and placements are initially configured in Prisma and then pushed to Sizmek Advertising Suite. The following table outlines the trafficking tasks and where they are managed.

TASK PRISMA SIZMEK PLATFORM
Campaign Setup
Placement Setup
Attachment of Ads
Adding URLs and 3rd party tracking
Publishing Ads & Sending out code packages
Making changes to placements

All trafficking, inclusive of but not limited to, ad creation, ad assignment, setting of click-through URLs, tag generation, and tag distribution to publishers, takes place solely within the Sizmek platform. There is no Prisma involvement throughout the trafficking process as described above. For any issues related directly to trafficking of your campaign within Sizmek Advertising Suite, please reach out to your Sizmek client services manager or to Support@Sizmek.com.

Rules and Guidelines

  • If you have a MDX2.0 account and are transitioning to Sizmek Advertising Suite, please confirm with your Sizmek client services manager that your account has been fully migrated before setting up the Sizmek Advertising Suite integration in Prisma
  • Sizmek reccomends against setting up the same campaign in both MDX2.0 and Sizmek Advertising Suite. If your campaign has started in MDX2.0, any new placements or campaign extension should continue in MDX2.0
  • If a campaign is set up in Sizmek Advertising Suite but has to be moved to MDX2.0 for some reason, the campaign should be setup again using the MDX2.0 ad server. The campaign that has been set up in Sizmek Advertising Suite can be deleted.
  • Sizmek may disable the setup of new placements in MDX2.0 once the Sizmek Advertising Suite roll out is complete. If a user attempts to push a new campaign or placements to MDX2.0 once the setup option is disabled, Prisma will display the following error message: You are not the owner of the provided entity. If this happens, please ensure you have selected the Sizmek Advertising Suite ad server so that the campaign is setup on Sizmek Advertising Suite instead.
  • Media plan and placement optimizations and updates, such as changing the ordered units/booked impressions, start/end dates, cost model, rates, placement and or package names should be executed in Prisma first and then pushed to Sizmek Advertising Suite.
  • Any media plan or placement modifications made directly in Sizmek Advertising Suite will not reflect in Prisma and are likely to be overwritten/undone or cause errors when pushing through any subsequent updates from Prisma to Sizmek Sizmek Advertising Suite.
  • Updating the site, placement name, banner size, placement type, flight date, package name or media cost in Sizmek Advertising Suite directly will break the connection between Sizmek Advertising Suite and Prisma. Updating section or media buy channel (custom fields in Sizmek Advertising Suite) will not however.

Known Issues

  • Sizmek Advertising Suite does not support cost per period.  If you select monthly costs, Prisma will display an error when pushing the placement to Sizmek Advertising Suite.  Select cumulative cost instead.
  • Sizmek Advertising Suite supports the following cost models: CPM, CPC, Time Based, Zero Cost, Flat Fee.  CPA is currently not supported.
  • Prisma Rreporting will be released in phases:
  • Phase 1: Sizmek Delivery Data will be available in Prisma (Q4 2016).
  • Phase 2: Sizmek Conversion Data (H1 2017). Sizmek Conversion Data will be available on the Sizmek platform in the interim.

Sizmek Setup

  • Check with your Sizmek client services manager to ensure that your account is fully migrated to Sizmek Advertising Suite before using this integration.
  • No other setup is required on the Sizmek side.

Prisma Setup and Implementation

Setup and implementation in Prisma is managed by the media agency user and not Sizmek. This section provides a brief summary of the setup and implementation steps required in Prisma, but for additional information and Prisma support, the media agency should contact the Prisma support team directly (prismahelp@mediaocian.com).

  • Use your Sizmek Advertising Suite login credentials to setup the authentication between Prisma and Sizmek Advertising Suite.
  • The supplier and client codes used in the MDX2.0 ad server instance can be used in the Sizmek Advertising Suite ad server iInstance.
  • Prisma’s support team will do a transfer of this data on the backend so that a user can start using the old mapping immediately.

If you have a new Sizmek Advertising Suite advertiser or supplier consideration set, you can update the Prisma mapping to include this in Prisma. Only Prisma users with admin permissions will have the ability to perform the advertiser and site mapping. If you need admin permissions, please reach out to your local Prisma support contact or prismahelp@mediaocian.com.

Importing the Sizmek Advertiser to the Prisma Client

  1. In Prisma, Sizmek brands are mapped instead of Sizmek advertisers.

  • Tag Size: When served by = Site (Placement type = ‘In-stream video’), Tag Size will default to ‘1x1 (In-stream video tracking)’

Once the media plan and placement details have been entered into Prisma, you can now push the media plan and placements into Sizmek from the Prisma Ad Server tab.

Sizmek guidelines for adding data to the media plan and placement names in Prisma:

  • Sizmek Advertising Suite character limit: The maximum number of supported characters is 300 applies to the media plan name (campaign name in Sizmek) and placement names.
  • Non-supported characters: Sizmek does not support the following characters: , >, and <.

Once the campaign is live, you can now retrieve and refresh the campaign’s delivery data from the Prisma Delivery tab.

Prisma can push the same placement to multiple ad servers. An example use case would be a client that wants to serve the creative in Sizmek, but wants to also have the placement in DFA to generate 1 x 1 trackers. Previously, a placement would have to be duplicated for this to be possible, but you now many have multiple ad servers on the same placement. The "Primary" server will receive the actual creative placement (for example 300 x 250 in-banner) while the secondary server will receive a 1 x 1 placement.

Procedure
  1. Access the Delivery Data view.

  2. Select an ad server to view in the grid.

  3. Click Traffic, to view traffic.

Guidelines for Pushing Prisma Data to Sizmek
  • Sizmek Advertising Suite User Name and Password are required in order to push the Media Plan and Placement details into Sizmek Advertising Suite. When prompted, enter your Sizmek Advertising Suite Username and Password exactly as you would if you were logging directly into the Sizmek Sizmek Advertising Suite platform.
  • Excluding a placement in Prisma, which was previously pushed through to Sizmek Advertising Suite, will delete the corresponding placement in Sizmek Advertising Suite. Please note that any reporting and delivery against the excluded/deleted placement is not lost and can be retrieved directly from the Sizmek Advertising Suite platform under the Analytics options.
  • To create a Sizmek Advertising Suite Tracking Only placement from Prisma, you’ll need to designate the Prisma placement as site served from the Prisma served by/tracking options drop down.
  • Under the placement details in Prisma, make sure that the ad server is set to Sizmek Advertising Suite.
  • When pulling in media plan and placement delivery from Sizmek Advertising Suite into Prisma: campaign and placement delivery (impressions, clicks, CTR, and actions/conversions) can be pulled into and viewed through Prisma under the Delivery tab.
  • Media delivery reporting will be available from campaign activity start through the previous day’s activity, per the industry standard 24 hr reporting lag.
  • The Sizmek Advertising Suite user name and password may be required in order to refresh/update the media plan and placement delivery stats. When prompted, enter your Sizmek Advertising Suite user name and password exactly as you would if you were logging directly into the Sizmek Advertising Suite platform.

Sizmek User Credential Guidelines

If you receive a security authentication or permissions error message after entering and submitting your Sizmek login credentials, please check the following:

  • Case Sensitivity: As Sizmek Advertising Suite user name and passwords are case sensitive. Double check that your Caps Lock is Off and that you’re correctly entering your credentials with matching case.
  • Sizmek Advertising Suite Password is Correct: Double check your email history to see if you’ve recently reset/updated your password. If you cannot remember your Sizmek Advertising Suite password, you can reset it by going to http://platform.sizmek.com/#/login and clicking Forgot Password?. Once reset, try using the updated credentials in Prisma.
  • Sizmek User account is enabled and active: If it has been a while since you’ve logged into Sizmek, either directly or through Prisma, your user account might have been automatically locked/disabled. Check with your Sizmek Support contact to confirm and or request your account be unlocked and enabled.
If none of the above resolve the issue, please take a screenshot of the resulting error message or warning and send it to your Prisma and Sizmek contacts, with step by step details of what is occurring.
