What is Prisma?

Prisma is a workflow management platform used for managing paid media workflow including, planning, buying, billing, and paying of media invoices.

Prisma uses the Sizmek Ad Suite (SAS) API to:

  • Create and update campaigns and placements in SAS.

  • View SAS campaign and placement delivery reporting and data within Prisma.

What is Required to Integrate with Prisma?

  • A SAS account that is fully migrated to SAS.

  • API user and API key.

Note

Note: A SAS API-enabled user is required for the Prisma integration.

Note to customer success managers

Ad creation, ad assignment, setting of click-through URLs, tag generation, and tag distribution to publishers, takes place solely within SAS. There is no Prisma involvement with these steps. For any issues related directly to trafficking of your campaign within SAS, please reach out to your customer success manager or to Support@Sizmek.com.

Rules and Guidelines

  • If you have a Sizmek MDX account and are transitioning to SAS, please confirm with your customer success manager that your account has been fully migrated before setting up the SAS integration in Prisma.

  • SAS recommends against setting up the same campaign in both Sizmek MDX and SAS. If your campaign has started in Sizmek MDX, any new placements or campaign extension should continue in Sizmek MDX.

  • If a campaign is set up in SAS but has to be moved to Sizmek MDX for some reason, the campaign should be setup again using the Sizmek MDX ad server. The campaign that has been set up in SAS can be deleted.

  • SAS may disable the setup of new placements in Sizmek MDX once the SAS roll out is complete. If a user attempts to push a new campaign or placements to Sizmek MDX once the setup option is disabled, Prisma will display the following error message: You are not the owner of the provided entity. If this happens, please ensure you have selected the SAS ad server so that the campaign is setup on SAS instead.

  • Media plan and placement optimizations and updates, such as changing the ordered units/booked impressions, start/end dates, cost model, rates, placement and or package names should be executed in Prisma first and then pushed to SAS.

  • Any media plan or placement modifications made directly in SAS will not reflect in Prisma and are likely to be overwritten/undone or cause errors when pushing through any subsequent updates from Prisma to SAS.

  • Updating the site, placement name, banner size, placement type, flight date, package name or media cost in SAS directly will break the connection between SAS and Prisma. Updating section or media buy channel (custom fields in SAS) will not however.

Known Issues

  • SAS does not support cost per period. If you select monthly costs, Prisma will display an error when pushing the placement to SAS. Select cumulative cost instead.

SAS Setup

  • Check with your customer success manager to ensure that your account is fully migrated to SAS before using this integration.

  • In addition, confirm creation of the required API user and the associated API key.

  • No other setup is required on the SAS side.

Note

Note: The API user credentials will not work in SAS. If access to SAS is required, the user will need separate credentials under the agency account.

Prisma Setup and Implementation

Setup and implementation in Prisma is managed by the media agency user and not SAS. This section provides a brief summary of the setup and implementation steps required in Prisma, but for additional information and Prisma support, the media agency should contact the Prisma support team directly (prismahelp@mediaocean.com).

Importing the SAS Advertiser to the Prisma Client

Procedure
  1. In Prisma, SAS brands are mapped instead of SAS advertisers.

  3. In Prisma, go to the Admin tool and navigate to the Ad Server Instance Details for SAS and go to the Client Codes tab > Agencies > Ad Servers > SAS > Client Codes.

  4. Create and/or locate the Advertising Client via Prisma Name.

  5. In the Ad Server Code field, type the corresponding Advertiser IDSAS. Make sure that SAS is set as the ad server name.

Pushing Media Plan and Placement Details from Prisma into SAS

Once the media plan and placement details have been entered into Prisma, you can now push the media plan and placements into SAS from the Prisma Ad Server tab.

SAS guidelines for adding data to the media plan and placement names in Prisma:

  • character limit:SAS The maximum number of supported characters is 300 applies to the media plan name (campaign name in SAS) and placement names.

  • Non-supported characters: SAS does not support the following characters: , >, and <.

Pulling in/Refreshing Delivery Data from SAS into Prisma

Once the campaign is live, you can now retrieve and refresh the campaign’s delivery data from the Prisma Delivery tab.

Pushing the Same Placement to Multiple Ad Servers

Prisma can push the same placement to multiple ad servers. An example use case would be a client that wants to serve the creative in SAS, but wants to also have the placement in DFA to generate 1 x 1 trackers. Previously, a placement would have to be duplicated for this to be possible, but you now many have multiple ad servers on the same placement. The "Primary" server will receive the actual creative placement (for example 300 x 250 in-banner) while the secondary server will receive a 1 x 1 placement.

Procedure
  1. Access the Delivery Data view.

    Picture7.png
  2. Select an ad server to view in the grid.

    Picture8.png
  3. Click Traffic, to view traffic.

Guidelines for Pushing Prisma Data to SAS

  • SAS User Name and Password are required in order to push the Media Plan and Placement details into SAS. When prompted, enter your SAS username and password for the SAS API user. Remember, API users cannot log into SAS; you will need a separate UI-enabled user.

  • Excluding a placement in Prisma, which was previously pushed through to SAS, will delete the corresponding placement in SAS. Please note that any reporting and delivery against the excluded/deleted placement is not lost and can be retrieved directly from SAS under the Analytics options.

  • To create a SAS Tracking Only placement from Prisma, you’ll need to designate the Prisma placement as site served from the Prisma served by/tracking options drop down.

  • Under the placement details in Prisma, make sure that the ad server is set to SAS.

  • When pulling in media plan and placement delivery from SAS into Prisma: campaign and placement delivery (impressions, clicks, CTR, and actions/conversions) can be pulled into and viewed through Prisma under the Delivery tab.

  • Media delivery reporting will be available from campaign activity start through the previous day’s activity, per the industry standard 24 hr reporting lag.

  • The SAS user name and password may be required in order to refresh/update the media plan and placement delivery stats. When prompted, enter your SAS user name and password exactly as you would if you were logging directly into SAS.

SAS User Credentials Guidelines

If you receive a security authentication or permissions error message after entering and submitting your SAS login credentials, please check the following:

  • Case Sensitivity: As SAS user name and passwords are case sensitive. Double check that your Caps Lock is Off and that you’re correctly entering your credentials with matching case.

  • Password is Correct:SAS Double check your email history to see if you’ve recently reset/updated your password. If you cannot remember your SAS password, you can reset it by going to http://platform.sizmek.com/#/login and clicking Forgot Password?. Once reset, try using the updated credentials in Prisma.

  • SAS User account is enabled and active: If it has been a while since you’ve logged into SAS, either directly or through Prisma, your user account might have been automatically locked/disabled. Check with your Sizmek by Amazon Support contact to confirm and or request your account be unlocked and enabled.

If none of the above resolve the issue, please take a screenshot of the resulting error message or warning and send it to your Prisma and SAS contacts, with step by step details of what is occurring.
