This article contains FAQs about upgrading from Sizmek MDX (MDX) to Sizmek Ad Suite (SAS).
A: There isn’t an explicit bookmarks section like there is in Sizmek MDX. However, the beauty of Sizmek Ad Suite is that all the URLs are routed properly so you can bookmark pretty much anything in your tool of choice outside the application (for example, your browser, google keep/evernote). We find it particularly helpful to put all relevant direct links for a client/campaign within a single project document for easy access and collaboration.
A:The new online spreadsheets capability in Sizmek Ad Suite creates a much faster way to use excel-like functionality for bulk updates, and can integrate easily with excel by copy/pasting multiple values into the interface. This meets the needs of most use cases for the Excel import/export functionality in Sizmek MDX, and it does so much more quickly.
In Sizmek MDX, we also noticed that users were often hampered by the need to import and export versioning spreadsheets on individual master ads, and wanted to more easily be able to use a single excel sheet to drive updates to dynamic creative across dozens of ads, ad sizes, and campaigns.
In order to address this need, we made it easy for users to subscribe multiple ads to a single excel sheet by adding the
.csv format to our data feed subscription feature, and adding the ability to upload
.csv files directly to Sizmek and subscribe to them as data feeds. This makes a much more efficient and scalable workflow than individual excel import/export across multiple ads, and eliminates a huge amount of custom development work required to support our largest DCO clients.
A: Version Name is not required in Sizmek Ad Suite, so a blank version name means one was not supplied. Please apply version names as a best practice, and pull reports with Version ID as well because those are always unique. When version name is 'Undefined' and version ID is -1, that means the impression served as either a default or it was not a DCO ad (for instance, say you pull reports for a campaign that has standard and dynamic ads, and you only pull reports by version name and ID, not including ad ID or name.
A: All Sizmek Ad Suite integrations are documented under the 3rd Party Integrations Portal .
A: There is no need to pre-enable raw data collection in SAS. Once the RDF/ARB scheduling is saved in the UI, the data is being collected. Historical data is saved for one month back; there is no option to retrieve historical data.
A: In SAS, geo data collection is enabled automatically.
A: As part of the upgrade process, the SAS analytics infrastructure has been designed to support an extensive range of additional reporting dimensions and metrics -- at greater scale and at faster data processing times. Given the differences in system infrastructure, analytics data modeling, and data storage capabilities, the decision was made to keep reporting on the two applications separate. But to fully ensure that clients upgrade with ease, once their account is upgraded, their historical MDX reporting will still be available for access.
