Note: To learn more about this format or to see build guides for other authoring tools, see About Standard Banner. For an overview of Sizmek Ad Suite (SAS) Ad Builder, see Introduction to Ad Builder.
Ad Builder opens.
Select one of the following:
Create Blank Ad:
Type a name for the ad.
Note: The advertiser or media agency may have provided you with a naming convention that you should use to name your ad. If not, use a name that describes the creative. For example, advertiser-campaign_name-dimensions → amazon-back_to_school_300x250.
For Format, select Standard.
Select the dimensions for your ad.
The following image shows an example of the Ad Builder interface displaying the various panes that are available when creating an ad. Refer to this image and the procedure to get familiar with steps you should perform every time you create a Standard Banner in Ad Builder.
As you can see by the red border in the Components pane, not all of the components are available. Standard Banner creatives are limited to a single user interaction, namely click-through; there are no video or media components. If you need to use those types of components, you must change your ad format to Rich Media Banner. For more information, see Create a Rich Media Banner in Sizmek Ad Suite Ad Builder.
Click the settings icon next to the logo to verify that the ad format, Standard Banner, is defined correctly.
Define the default image. The default image must have the same dimensions as your ad. You cannot save your work until this field is set.
Click Save. It is recommended to save your ad to secure your settings.
In the Components pane, click Hotspot to add a click-through button. This button creates a transparent overlay that makes your creative clickable. In the Properties pane, set the width and height to match your ad, and set the X and Y coordinates to 0.
In the Actions and Animations pane, click Create New Event, and then select Tap/Click as the event type.
Add a click-through action to ensure that the entire hotspot is clickable.
(Optional) Hide and lock the Hotspot layer. Afterwards, you can create animation layers without being distracted by the hotspot.
(Optional) Set a URL. This is a temporary URL for testing purposes. This URL will be overwritten by the media agency, which will define the final URL at the campaign level.
(Optional) Add a border. Most publishers require a border on HTML ads. Refer to your specifications plan to confirm that a border is required. If you do not have this information, you should add a border.
Note: These instructions are not part of the mandatory procedure. You can use them to create a reusable template if required.
Clicking the arrow next to Save, and selecting Save as template enables you to save your layout as a template. This template will be available for all users in your account, and can speed up your workflow the next time you build a Standard Banner.
Now that the essentials of your ad are set, you can start creating and animating the content. For more information, see the following :
After you finish creating your ad, make sure that you preview and test it. For more information, see Preview Your Ads and Test Your Ads.
