Video Player Ad-Serving Interface Definition (in-stream video interactive) is a template defined by the IAB to standardize the delivery of interactive video ads, which are played on a publisher’s player, across sites. It establishes a common interface between video players and ad units, enabling a rich and engaging ad experience.

In Amazon Ad Server (AAS), in-stream video interactive is known as an in-stream video - interactive. It can be served before (pre-roll), during (mid-roll), or after (post-roll) video content. in-stream video interactive can contain linear elements and/or companion ads in a variety of combinations.

Note

Notes:

  • If your in-stream ad does not include interactive elements, see About in-stream video.

  • In-stream video interactive is an IAB standard that specifies an API that the ad and player use to communicate with each other. This communication includes events that the player can use to track, along with functionality that allows interactive creatives to work with the player. For more information about the IAB specifications, see IAB VPAID Specs.

  • Interactions are not shown in preview player (interactions tab) for ads of type "instream interactive"
