standard banner is the most basic type of ad format (for fixed-sized, non-responsive creatives) and has the following limitations, based on IAB recommendations:

  • Maximum size is 200 KB (including default image).

  • Ad has a single user interaction (click-through).

  • Creative cannot contain a video.

Building a standard banner

There are several methods that you can use to build your ad.

The default image must match the dimensions of the ad defined during set up and it can not be larger than 200 KB.

The publisher or the media technology (for example, DSP) determine the max duration.

If your creative is larger than 200 KB and cannot be optimized (for example an image or code compression), use a rich media banner. For more information, see About rich media banner.
