The Parallax Reveal ad format is a responsive format used to add a static background image, which is revealed when scrolling down the page, in addition to parallax animation, to your ad banner. These banners can be fully responsive with adaptive breakpoints or a static size. They also include tools that can be used to produce a parallax animation in the banner.

Parallax Reveal includes the following attributes:

  • Maximum size is 10 MB. (The initial load can be set at 200 KB. For more information, see Add Polite Load to your HTML Ads.

    Notes:

    • While Sizmek Ad Suite (SAS) ads can be up to 10 MB, ads must also follow the specifications of the publishers or DSPs that will ultimately run the ad.

    • Maximum ad size can be increased beyond 10 MB upon request; however, you should check with your media partner to verify that the ad will not be rejected by the publisher.

  • Ad can contain multiple user interactions.

  • Ad can contain video.

  • Responsive or Fixed sizes available.

  • Offers tools for a background reveal and parallax animation.

How Does It Work?

The following example of the Parallax Reveal format features an ad that reveals a fixed city skyline with hands and clouds that animate across the frame as the page scrolls down. This makes the the hands appear close to the viewer, the clouds further away, and the background the furthest from the viewer. Additionally, the banner is responsive and changes dimensions and background image based on the page width.

The first images shows the viewer at the top of the page with the ad towards the bottom. Notice the ad shows the bottom of the city skyline, which is the background image.

The second image shows the view as the viewer has scrolled down the page. The clouds have moved across the banner as the banner reveals the background which has remained in place giving the illusion that the hands moved in front of the elements behind them.

This example is of a responsive banner with breakpoints, which changes its layout depending on the dimensions of the page. As you adjust the size of the browser window, the ad resizes to the specified break points and adjusts the layout of the elements inside; such as the background image and information bubble size.
