The following image shows an example of the Ad Builder interface displaying the various panes that are available when creating an ad. Refer to this image and the procedure to get familiar with actions you should perform every time you create a pushdown in Ad Builder.
-
Click the settings icon next to the logo to verify that the ad format, pushdown, is defined correctly.
-
Define the default image. The default image must have the same dimensions as your ad. You cannot save your work until this field is set.
-
Click Save. It is recommended to save your ad to secure your settings.
-
In the Components pane, click Hotspot to add a click-through button. This button creates a transparent overlay that makes your creative clickable. In the Properties pane, set the width and height to match your ad, and set the X and Y coordinates to 0.
-
In the Actions and Animations pane, click Create New Event, and then select Tap/Click as the event type.
-
Add a click-through action to ensure that the entire hotspot is clickable.
-
(Optional) Hide and lock the Hotspot layer. Afterwards, you can create animation layers without being distracted by the hotspot.
-
(Optional) Set a URL. This is a temporary URL for testing purposes. This URL will be overwritten by the media agency, which will define the final URL at the campaign level.
-
(Optional) Add a border. Most publishers require a border on HTML creatives. Refer to your specifications plan to confirm that a border is required. If you do not have this information, you should add a border.
-
Include a layer for the collapse or the master banner. Similar to a click-through, you can define a Tap/Click event for a hotspot. In this example, the hotspot is the expand-button. You can select pushdown; and then select default as the value.
-
Include the layer for the expanded panel. You can place expanded elements here, for example, videos, and images.
Note
Note: These instructions are not part of the mandatory procedure. You can use them to create a reusable template if required.
Clicking the arrow next to the Save button and selecting Save as template enables you to save your layout as a template. This template will be available for all users in your account, and can speed up your workflow the next time you build a pushdown.
Now that the essentials of your creative are set, you can start creating and animating the content. For more information, see the following:
After you finish creating your ad, make sure that you preview and test it. For more information, see Preview Your Ads and Test your ads.
